Pemotor Penyumbang Kecelakaan Terbanyak

GILAMOTOR.com, Jakarta. – Dari sekitar 31.000 kecelakaan yang terjadi di jalan raya selama tahun 2011, lebih dari 70 persen penyumbangnya adalah pengendara motor. Sebuah angka yang mengerikan, bukan?

Karena itu, langkah kecil dilakukan salah satu pelumas motor nasional, Evalube dan komunitas GilaMotor untuk membantu mengurangi angka kecelakaan di jalan raya.

Atau setidaknya untuk menanamkan rasa pentingnya berkendara aman dan nyaman di jalan raya kepada anggota komunitas GilaMotor dengan menggelar GilaMotor Evalube Safety Riding Course.

Menurut Edo Rusyanto, Ketua Divisi Litbang Road Safety Association (RSA) yang ikut membagi pengetahuan dan pengalaman berkendara aman di event GilaMotor Evalube Safety Riding Course (SRC) di Gedung KONI, Tanah Abang I, Jakarta Pusat (21/4) kemarin, banyak faktor menjadi “hulu” yang bermuara pada sebuah kecelakaan. Selain mudahnya mendapatkan motor, pengetahuan dan kesadaran pentingnya safety riding serta skill berkendara yang kurang memadai juga menjadi faktor terjadinya kecelakaan.

Dan dikatakan juga oleh penulis buku Hiruk Pikuk Bersepeda Motor ini, kurang tegasnya petugas dan hukum yang tak membuat efek jera kepada para pelanggar lalu lintas, juga dinilai menjadi salah satu faktor penyumbang terjadinya kecelakaan.

“Kita semua tahu bagaimana komprominya beberapa oknum petugas lalulintas kepada para pelanggar lalulintas yang akhirnya tak menimbulkan efek jera. Dan itu merupakan faktor pendukung terjadinya kecelakaan,” ujar Edo.

Edo juga menjelaskan bahwa mayoritas pemotor yang mengalami kecelakaan adalah pemotor berusia produktif. Emosi, adalah penyebab nya.

“Emosi yang berlebihan memengaruhi konsentrasi. Buntutnya bisa membuka celah lebih lebar terjadinya kecelakaan lalu lintas,” kata Edo.

“Fakta menunjukan, faktor manusia memiliki andil besar sebagai pemicu utama kecelakaan. Dari unsur ini, faktor kelengahan saat berkendara menjadi biang keladi yang memicu insiden. Karena itu, konsentrasi menjadi mutlak saat berkendara. Tak heran Undang Undang No 22/2009 tentang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan (LLAJ) mengatur soal konsentrasi,” terangnya.

Aturan itu mewajibkan pengendara berkonsentrasi saat mengemudi. Beberapa pemicu hilangnya konsentrasi diharamkan, seperti berponsel dan minum-minuman keras. Ada sanksi untuk pelanggar aturan itu. Pilihannya, denda maksimal Rp 750 ribu atau kurungan badan maksimal tiga bulan.
