Velentino Rossi Senang Engine Brake M1 Sudah Lebih Baik

GILAMOTOR.com – Valentino Rossi mengawali tes pra musim 2014 dengan senyum terkembang di wajahnya setelah menyelesaikan sesi tes pra musim di hari pertama, Selasa 4 Februari 2014 di Sepang, Malaysia.

Hasil akhir dari tes kemarin, legenda motogp itu hanya terpaut 0.518 detik dari juara dunia Marc Marquez yang berhasil jadi pembalap tercepat di sesi itu dengan 2 menit 0.286 detik. Rossi mencatatkan waktu tercepatnya dengan 2 menit 0.804 detik.

Tahun ini Rossi mengawali musim bersam chief mekanik nya yang baru, Silvano Galbusera. Dan Rossi senang bekerja dengan Silvano.

“Suasana di tim bagus, aku sangat senang pada kerja Silvano dan semua orang berada dalam mood yang bagus. Ini baru haru pertama dan kalau kami mau lebih kompetitif dan bertarung dengan tiga pembalap teratas, kami harus lebih baik besok, lusa dan seterusnya,” kata Rossi.

Rossi memang mengakui ada sedikit perbedaan bekerja dengan bos mekanik asal Italia itu. Tapi itu diperlukan Rossi untuk perubahan yang baik. “Bicara dalam bahasa Italia jelas lebih mudah, juga motivasi tinggi. Ini awal yang bagus, tapi ini baru permulaan.”

Hasil akhir di sesi tes hari pertama kemarin cukup membuat wajah dan bibir Rossi merekah. Tapi yang paling membuatnya lebih bahagia adalah cara kerja mereka menyelesaikan masalah pada motornya. “Kami sudah menemukan sesuatu. Aku senang karena aku merasa nyaman dengan motor dan mampu mencatat waktu 2 menit. Itu memang targetku. Hari yang positif bagi kami.”

Tentunya yang paling disenangi Rossi adalah kinerja mesin saat melakukan engine brake. Yamaha berhasil meningkatkan kinerja mesin dibanding sesi tes sebelumnya di Valencia.

“Aku sudah mencoba M1 2014 di Valencia dan Yamaha telah bekerja banyak untuk ku pada pengereman mesin dan membantuku menghentikan motor, yang mana itu jadi masalah utama ku tahun lalu.”

Di tahun kedua bersama Yamaha setelah dua tahun bersama Ducati dirasa Rossi lebih baik dari tahun lalu. “Aku lebih mengenal motor dan bisa bekerja untuk jadi lebih kuat dari tahun lalu. Motor ini seperti punya potensi yang sangat besar,” tegas Rossi.
