Perlawanan justru dilakukan oleh Pedrosa. Beberapa kali Lorenzo dan Pedrosa terlibat duel yang nyaris membuat mereka berdua keluar lintasan.

“Di 10 lap awal aku sedikit gugup dan merasa kaku di atas motor. Aku tak mampu balapan seperti gaya balap ku yang biasanya karena pertarungan Jorge dan Dani, sangat sulit menunggu di posisi tiga,” kata Marquez.

“Kadang di dalam diri berkata, ‘Kamu harus bertarung’. Tapi bagaimana pun, aku cukup pandai dan mengerti bahwa juara dunia jauh lebih penting dari satu balapan.”

“Setelah Jorge dan Dani melebar, aku masuk ke posisi pertama, dan saat aku dengar suara mesin Jorge, aku langsung berpikir ‘Ok, kau duluan’. Karena aku lihat pertarungan yang begitu sengit dan itu bukan pertarungan ku. Kami akan bertemu di banyak balapan nanti,” cetus Marquez.

“Aku merasa ini balapan terpanjang sepanjang karir ku,” aku Marquez. “Khusus di lap terakhir, aku begitu hati-hati. Aku tak mendorong motor ku seperti biasa, tapi meski demikian aku finish ketiga.”

“Kami sangat bangga dengan musim pertama kami di MotoGP. Ini mimpi yang jadi nyata dengan menjadi juara dunia. Ini lebih cepat dari yang kami perkirakan,” ucap Marquez.
