Kang JJ Lintasi Jalur Kanada-Alaska Maret 2013

Pastinya Bro en Sis semua dah pada tau siapa orangnya. Siapa lagi kalau bukan si Jurig Jalanan a.k.a Kang JJ.

Lelaki kelahiran Bandung yang punya nama lengkap Jeffrey Polnaja ini memulai perjalanan keliling dunia dengan motor BMW R1150GS pada Juni lalu. Setelah melewati beberapa negara di beberapa benua, kini Kang JJ bersiap melintasi jalur Kanada menuju Alaska. Rencananya, Kang JJ akan memulai perjalanan itu pada Maret tahun depan.

Jeffrey yang meninggalkan Indonesia untuk memulai perjalanan keliling dunia keduanya dari Paris pada Juni 2012 silam, sempat mengalami hambatan ketika mengirim sepeda motor dari Busan ke Vancouver. “Birokrasi pemerintah di Korea Selatan dalam urusan pengiriman kendaraan asing ke luar negeri ternyata sangat rumit, selain itu biaya pengiriman juga sangat tinggi,” katanya Jeffrey.

Menurut penjelajah yang telah melintasi negara-negara Eropa, termasuk Siberia hingga Jepang, itu ongkos pengiriman yang diberlakukan di Korea Selatan tidak wajar. “Saya hanya bisa menego dari tarif 4.750 menjadi 4.500 dolar AS untuk sebuah sepeda motor. Bandingkan dengan di Monggolia, di mana untuk tujuan Vancouver hanya dikenakan tarif 1.600 dolar AS. Padahal jaraknya lebih jauh dari Korea ke Vancouver,” lanjutnya.

Untungnya, Kang JJ dapat bantuan dari BMW Belgia yang menghubungi agen BMW di Korea. Motornya yang berstatus “Dangerous Good” berubah menjadi “Cudtomer Good”. Nah, berubahnya status pengiriman motornya itu memengaruhi biaya pengiriman. Yang juga bikin gampang urusan kirim mengirim motor gede itu, Jeffrey dibantu oleh rekannya dari Afrika Selatan, Duncan Johnson yang memnunjukkan perusahaan ekpedisi yang terpercaya. Itulah fungsinya teman, bukan datang saat senang kemudian lenyap saat kita kesusahan. Betul..?

Jeffrey baru bisa mengapalkan R1150GS menuju Vancouver pada 1 November 2012 setelah melalui proses negosiasi alot dan berkepanjangan. Pas nerima motor berkelir peraknya di Vancouver pada 29 November 2012, Jeffrey pun merogoh kocek 2.000 dolar AS, termasuk biaya penyimpanan di gudang pelabuhan.

“Ride For Peace (RFP) tak akan surut hanya karena kendara birokrasi seperti itu, saya akan terus menggerakkan roda-roda motor ini ke berbagai negara demi nama Indonesia yang harum di internasional.”

Sekarang Kanada lagi musim dingin jadi banyak jalan yang keuruk salju. Meski demikian, Kang JJ sebenarnya bisa saja melanjutkan perjalan, tapi kudu siap dengan segala resiko yang tinggi. Demi lancarnya perjalanan RFP, Kang JJ pun menunda pejalanannya sejenak dan mengganti kegiatan riding nya dengan dialog dan presentasi ke sejumlah komunitas di Kanada.

“Saat musim dingin berbagai daerah akan tertutup salju. Secara teknis kondisi itu bisa diatasi. Saya bisa saja tetap riding, meski resiko bahayanya sangat tinggi,” terang Jeffrey.

Di musim dingin banyak jalur menuju Alaska yang telah ditutup pemerintah Kanada demi keselamatan pengguna jalan. “Kalau dilanggar sanksinya berat, dan RFP lebih baik patuh pada aturan di sebuah negara. Misi ini bertujuan baik, maka sewajarnya dijalankan dengan cara yang baik pula.”

Kang JJ berjanji akan kembali menunggang R1150GS di sekitar bulan Maret 2013 setelah banyak jalur di utara Kanada dibuka kembali. Pria yang telah berkeliling dunia dua kali seorang diri ini berharap perjalanan lanjutannya menuju Amerika Selatan tidak mengalami hambatan berarti.
