GILAMOTOR.com – Jadi sebuah kesempatan yang tak mungkin disia-siakan, ketika Yamaha Indonesia menawarkan awak GilaMotor.com melihat lebih dekat sosok motor sport yang telah lama menjadi perbincangan kalangan two wheelers, apalagi kalau bukan Byson.

Kendati belum secara resmi diluncurkan ke pasar otomotif Indonesia, namun sesungguhnya Byson sudah siap didistribusikan ke seluruh dealer Yamaha.

Ya. YMKI memang mempersiapkan sosok motor sport ini dengan sangat apik demi memuaskan dan memenuhi permintaan para pecinta motor sport di Indonesia.

“Kita akan luncurkan setelah lebaran 2010 ini. Pada pertengahan September ini kita mulai distribusi ke dealer,” ungkap GM Promotion and Motor Sport Division, Paulus S. Firmanto kepada GilaMotor.com, Jum’at (13/8).

Menatap dari dekat sosok Byson, tak salah jika motor sport 150 cc ini terlihat seperti moge street fighter. Lihatlah bodinya yang gambot dengan tampang garangnya, sungguh menegaskan karakter desain street fighter. Itulah impresi pertama GilaMotor.com saat berada di hadapan Byson.

Bagaimana kalau kita urai satu per satu soal Byson ini.

Desain

Motor sport 150 cc ini memang mengambil basis dari Yamaha FZ16 India, namun untuk versi Indonesia telah mendapat sentuhan dan perubahan dibeberapa sektor untuk menyesuaikan karakter dan kebutuhan berkendara masyarakat Indonesia. Hal ini juga diungkapkan oleh Presiden Direktur PT YMKI, Dyonisius Beti, beberapa waktu lalu saat meet and greet dengan pembalap motogp, Valentino Rossi di Jakarta.

Tangki besar, stang lebar alias baplang, kombination meter yang sporti dan head lamp yang terpisah bergaya diamond, kian menegaskan karakter naked bike Yamaha ini sebagai real street fighter.

Kendati hanya berada diatas jok dengan kedua tangan menggenggam stang, aura ganas Byson sangat terasa. Terlebih saat elektrik starter ditekan, raungan mesinnya sungguh membuat birahi tak tertahan untuk memutar gas dan memindahkan tuas gear makin tinggi.

Sayangnya, kondisi tak memungkinkan untuk memutar gas lebih dalam. Kendati hanya bergerak sejauh sekitar 100 meter-an, nuansa sporty Byson sangat terasa dengan balutan desain yang sangar namun stylish.

“Sabar, nanti akan ada kesempatan menjajal performa Byson di lintasan balap sesungguhnya dengan mesin yang jauh lebih baik. Mesin yang akan digunakan pada test nanti merupakan mesin Byson yang akan dipasarkan di Indonesia,” jelas Paulus S. Firmanto.

Mesin

Basis mesinnya sendiri memang menggambil basis mesin V-Ixion. Hanya saja, mesin ini tidak menggunakan sistem injeksi dan tanpa radiator coolant. Terlihat perbedaan mencolok pada blok mesinnya, tetapi cover gear box terlihat sama dengan yang digunakan pada Yamaha V-Ixion.

Dari data spesifikasi pabrikan, mesin 153 cc nya diklaim Yamaha mampu memuntahkan tenaga hingga 13.41 hp pada 7.500 rpm. Sementara torsinya mempu menembus angka 13.6 Nm pada 6000 rpm.

“Mesinnya mengusung karakter over square dengan 58.0 x 57.9 mm dengan kompresi 9,5:1,” ungkap Paulus.

Melihat kompresinya yang rendah, sudah pasti mesin Byson ini peminum bbm jesin premium. Kendati mesinnya merupakan peminum premium, namun dipastikan bahwa emisi gas buang yang dihasilkan dari pembakaran sudah memenuhi standar EURO 2, karena knalpotnya yang gambot ala motor gede ini telah dicangkokkan catalytic converter.

Kaki-kaki

Bicara masalah moge alias motor gede, sudah pasti tak bisa lepas dari kaki-kaki yang kekar. Disini Yamaha rupanya tahu betul bagaimana menghadirkan nuansa moge pada sosok Byson.

Kita mulai dari ban yang menggunakan ban tubeless dengan tapak lebar berukuran 100/80-17 pada roda depan dan 120/70-17 untuk ban belakang. Lantas dari lengan ayun yang berhias dengan spatboar kolong yang didisain menyatu dengan penutup rantai, mencuatkan kesan arm moge yang kental.

Bicara masalah harga, motor ini dipastikan akan dibandrol dibawah angka Rp 20 juta.
